Kelly Williams AKA Mountain Duck
Artist
Kelly Williams, also known by his monikers "Mountain Duck" and "MÓNDÙC," is a New Zealand-based artist whose journey began in the urban landscape of Auckland.
Influenced by his background in graffiti, animation, and his diverse heritage of Ngati Kāhu ki Whangaroa and Bræmore Gunn, Kelly's work blends street art with cultural symbolism.
Early in his career, he contributed to notable projects like Brotown and Disney, while also making a name for himself as a graffiti artist in Auckland’s central city zone. His current style maintains that rebellious street-art flavor, featuring Māori and Celtic deities alongside abstract numerology, all viewed through a post-graffiti lens.
Following a career in corporate design and a traumatic brain injury that led him to fully embrace his identity as an artist, Kelly now lives in Whaīngaroa (Raglan). His recent work, under the name MÓNDÙC, features bold, vibrant pieces like "Freight Train Frights" and "NO DOLLARS OR SEN$E," which incorporate street influences with neon colors, metallic elements, and expressive forms. Passionate about bringing art to life, Kelly can often be found live painting at festivals like AUM and Earthbeat, blending old-school graffiti with fresh, innovative styles.
His work is quickly gaining traction, with collectors eager to acquire his art via live auctions at these events.
