Orion is a figurative artist whose work explores the breadth of human diversity, celebrating the rich tapestry of faces, body types, and ethnicities that define us. Born in America, but having spent their formative years immersed in the creative community of Auckland, New Zealand, Orion developed a passion for art early on—nurtured by a fascination with classical sculpture, fantasy illustration, and the discipline of life drawing. This blend of cultural experiences and artistic interests informs their unique practice today.

After returning to the United States in 2019, Orion settled in Colorado. While adapting to a new environment and cultural landscape, they found inspiration in capturing the energy, emotion, and essence of people—translating life’s subtle moments into portraiture, sculpture, and imaginative illustration. Although navigating the business side of the art world remains a challenge, Orion is driven by the impact their creations have on others. The joy and wonder that collectors, models, and observers express when experiencing Orion’s work fuels their commitment to honing craft and technique.

Back in Auckland, Orion continues to foster meaningful connections within creative communities wherever possible—be it at local artist meetups, through online networks, or during collaborative events. Their dedication to self-education, whether studying classical techniques or embracing new digital tools, stems from a desire to learn from the old masters while evolving toward a contemporary practice. Orion’s journey has always been guided by the belief that art thrives in community, shared knowledge, and the human stories that connect us all.
