Gary Boyd
Photographic Artist
Gary Boyd may be a late entrant to the creative arts space but shows age is no barrier to try something new and extend yourself. He has always enjoyed seeing murals, statues and other forms of public art, he believes that it is an important part of creating the atmosphere of any community.
Both at home and travelling he enjoys attending community events of many types. "It is where you see how communities come together and enjoy interacting with one another. Auckland is a unique melting pot of nationalities, something that makes Tamaki Makarau special and is worthy of celebrating and sharing."
As a photographer Gary sets out to capture the feel of community. He has recently begun documenting public art events including activations by Art Battle Auckland and the Meet The Artists Collective.
Food shows, concerts, Sunday markets, sports and motorshows; Gary is always looking for unique angles, capturing a "Boyd Eye View" through his lens.
